About Larry (Bear) Stotts

Larry ‘Bear’ Stotts is one of those rare gentlemen who measure experience by the lives they’ve positively impacted.

As Director of Motorcycle Safety, Education and Promotion for Motorcycle Safety Lawyers®, Larry is unquestionably MSL’s most recognizable advocate for rider education. He really operates around one main rule: safety comes first. Frankly, his whole take is that you’ve got to get riders prepared before things go sideways – not after.

That philosophy shapes everything he does.

Larry is certified in Accident Scene Management training, but more importantly, he’s put in serious time teaching riders how to step up in those terrifying first few minutes after a crash. He practically lives out the firm’s core belief: helping fellow motorcyclists shouldn’t wait until someone needs a lawyer.

Larry balances verbal instruction with hands-on practical experience riders will actually need in emergencies.  These include handling real-world situations like stabilizing an injured rider, giving clear info to first responders, and stepping up when every second counts before the medics show up.

Larry doesn’t limit himself to formal classes either! He prefers to meet riders where they actually are; chapter events, dealership lots, charity rides, motorcycle expos, or just leaning against a bike chatting about safety. Every discussion is another chance to push for safer habits and strengthen the connections that make the motorcycle world so tight-knit.

Around the bike scene, Larry’s known as more than just a teacher. He’s a guy who actually lives the lifestyle and genuinely loves riding. If you know Larry, you know this about him, he’s generous to a fault, has a huge heart, and is always ready to lend a hand.
